The twig bundles are made from Oregon Ash branches salvaged after a devastating ice storm. The fabric ties, sourced from worn garments and other found materials, reference an Irish custom of tying small bits of cloth to tree branches near holy wells as a means of seeking divine intervention in our earthly realm.
